L’Atelier Bergere est né de notre envie de réunir nos pratiques artistiques et professionnelles respectives au sein d’un même espace de création. Nous sommes deux jeunes artistes autodidactes travaillant depuis plus de 10 ans de nos métiers de photographe pour l’un, de peintre et illustrateur pour l’autre.

En février 2020, Henriëtte H Jansen se retrouve confinée dans son pays natal, les Pays-Bas, captive derrière une fenêtre avec vue sur un monde à l’arrêt.
Loin de son atelier parisien, en manque de sa terre, de ses émaux, de ses couleurs, de son four, de ses objets, elle décide de reprendre, simplement armée d’un pinceau et d’une boîte d’aquarelle, ce qui lui tient le plus à cœur; la relation entre les couleurs. Ce travail quotidien élaboré sur plusieurs mois lui permet au travers de centaines d’études de recréer sur papier les résultats, souvent accidentels, de la cuisson des émaux sur ses créations en céramique.
À l’instar de la population mondiale en proie aux sentiments de peur, d’incompréhension, de solitude et de silence, Henriëtte se recrée un monde profond et intime, la série Fenêtres, où couleurs et formes se choquent et s’harmonisent entre elles.
De retour chez elle dans son nouvel atelier Charentais, elle retrouve sa terre et crée une grande sculpture dont la forme, si caractéristique de se son travail de céramiste, sera l’inspiration et le sujet d’un triptyque peint à l’huile sur bois.
L’exposition Loin de mon atelier met en scène ces différents travaux où l’émail rayonne l’aquarelle, l’huile reflète la céramique. Henriëtte H Jansen nous transporte ici dans un monde en miroir à travers son histoire d’artiste-peintre et de céramiste guidé par une vision profondément personnelle de la forme et de la couleur.

In February 2020, Henriette H Jansen finds herself ‘locked-down’ in her country of birth, The Netherlands, captive behind a window with view on a world ‘on hold’.
Far away from her studio in Paris, missing her clay, her glazes, her colors, her kiln and her work, she decides, with just a brush and a box of watercolors, to pick up what’s most important for her; studying the relationship between colors.
This daily occupation over a few months, helps her to create throughout hundreds of studies, a result on paper, often by accident, reminding the effect of colored glazes on her ceramics.
Facing a population plagued by fear, incomprehension, solitude and silence, Henriëtte creates her own inner world, the ‘Windows series’ where color and shape shock and harmonize with each other.
Back home in her new studio in Charente, she rediscovers her clay and creates a large sculpture whose form, so characteristic of her work as a ceramist, will be the inspiration and subject of a triptych painted in oil on wood.
The exhibition ‘Far from my Studio’ presents these different works where glazes shine through watercolors, and where oil reflects ceramics. Henriëtte leads us in a mirrored world through her history as a painter and a ceramist, guided by a profound and personal vision of shape and color.

Après des études à l’Academy of Art de San Francisco, Henriëtte H Jansen s’installe à Paris en 1986 et travaille comme artiste-peintre. Elle expose et reçoit des commandes en France et à l’étranger.
Lors d’un voyage au Maroc, elle est marquée par la céramique, la richesse des couleurs qu’elle découvre sur les murs des maisons, les sols et les créations artisanales.
Depuis, toucher la terre, créer des formes, les cuire, travailler l’émail et ses couleurs constitue le cœur de son travail.
En 1999 elle crée une collection d’art de la table colorée et organique, qu’elle commercialise jusqu’en 2020. En même temps elle dessine et fait fabriquer au Népal des tapis dessinés sur mesure pour des clients privés. À travers cette expérience de la couleur et de la matière on lui propose des projets de décoration privés avec des architectes.
Elle a réalisé plusieurs collaborations de collections de maison avec des enseignes comme La Redoute ou Cyrillus.
Aujourd’hui Henriëtte vit et travaille entre Paris et la Charente Maritime où elle se consacre à la peinture à l’huile et à la sculpture grand format et des commandes des pièces uniques, au sein d’ateliers spacieux qui lui permettent désormais de donner une nouvelle ampleur à sa démarche artistique.
After studying at the Academy of Art in San Francisco, Henriëtte H Jansen moved to Paris in 1986 and works as a painter. She exhibits and receives commissions in France and abroad.
During a trip to Morocco, she is marked by ceramics, the richness of the colors she discovers on the walls of houses, floors and craft creations.
Since then, touching the clay, creating shapes, firing them, working with enamel and its colors constitutes the heart of her work.
In 1999 she created a collection of colorful and organic tableware, which she marketed until 2020. At the same time she designs and manufactures custom-made rugs in Nepal for private clients. Through this experience of color and material, she is proposed private decoration projects with architects.
She has made several collaborations for home collections with brands such as La Redoute or Cyrillus.
Today Henriëtte lives and works between Paris and the Charente Maritime where she devotes herself to oil painting and large format sculpture and commissions unique pieces, in spacious studios that now allow her to give a new scope to her artistic approach.
